Our Code of Ethics
We use James Rest's Ethical Decision-Making Process (1994) to recognize ethical dilemmas and turn to then turn to our values and principles as guides.
CYBERSAVVY VALUES: Critical Thinking, Transparency, and Civic Engagement
EXAMPLE OF AN ETHICAL DECISION:
Should schools have the right to monitor students' social media accounts since cyberbullying could affect their academic performance?
Suggestion after Considering Our Values, ISPI"s Code of Ethics, and AECT's Code of Professional Ethics: A practitioner can added value to a school district's effort to end cyberbullying by collaborating with a school district in developing a workshop and reporting process instead of infringing on the rights of students and parents.
